Born and raised in Johannesburg, after completing a Bcomm degree in Information Management, relocated to Cape Town in 2011. After being in the logistic and transport industry for majority of my working career, my love for technology encouraged me to learn more and complete various online courses. My biggest motivation and role model is Elon Musk and how he has pursued ground breaking and world changing ideas and put them into reality, despite facing numerous set backs. My aim to to provide value on a large scale using technology to bridge the gap between communities and the world. My interest is in using cutting edge technology to reinvent the future for generations to come and to promote society as a whole, while generating money for charities in need. I am a proud supporter and contributor to Open Source software and the free flow of ideas. My coding knowledge is self-taught as well as commercial. I keep myself up to date with courses constantly to add value to future employers and clients, while developing knowledge that is relevant. At the start of my career, I equipped myself with my Front-end Development certificate which I obtained through freeCodeCamp and was extremely satisfied with the way the courses were presented and the projects I was required to complete as it forced me to put my theoretical experience into practice. Furthermore, I have completed various courses on codecademy.com, hackerrank and solelearn.

Throughout my thrilling web development journey, I've had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with a multitude of companies and clients. In 2017, I became a key member of Elemental Web Solutions, where I was instrumental in crafting over 60 captivating commercial WordPress sites and dynamic e-commerce stores for a diverse clientele. Concurrently, I established Toorn Technologies, a venture through which I pursued exciting side projects to broaden my expertise and push the boundaries of my capabilities. This dual experience has fueled my passion for delivering exceptional web solutions, and continues to inspire me as I eagerly tackle new challenges in the ever-evolving digital landscape.

At Elemental Web Solutions, I was a commercial front-end developer. I created beautiful websites using HTML, CSS, jQuery, JavaScript, PHP and MCV for custom websites, as well as WordPress sites for a variety of clients. All the sites that I built conformed to the latest SEO standards, were highly responsive for mobile, and compressed to ensure the best speed possible and compatibility with all modern desktop and mobile internet browsers. I was also responsible for keeping sites up to date, or adding additional pages or elements to existing clients through monthly service level agreements. My former employer, Elemental Web Solutions, created bespoke websites for international clients with custom ECMS, SEO, and website optimization. Elemental is one of the leading web development agencies in South Africa and used groundbreaking technologies and frameworks to match individual client needs. In December 2019, I started my employment at 24.com where I am currently employed and hold the position of Technical Support Consultant, where my role is managing and assisting with digital ad campaigns across the 24.com network. My responsibilities encompass programmatic and direct ad campaigns, ensuring their seamless execution and optimization. Additionally, I am actively involved in the development of new features and provide critical troubleshooting support to address any arising issues. My contributions to the team consistently reinforce the high-quality standards of our digital advertising solutions, driving the success of the 24.com network and enhancing the user experience on web, mobile web and app for the digital media offerings by 24.com for online news and publications. I work mostly with the Google Ad Manager network and am currently developing my programming skills further with C# and React Native. For fun I enjoy working on My Expert Advisor which is an algorithm trading bot which runs on Meta Trader 4 and uses the Meta Quotes Language (.mql), which is very similar to C#. Further I really enjoy doing wordpress site and often times I am in active development of Wordpress projects.
